Our Service in Action Photo Competition photos are used to help promote the CSC program, to highlight campus-based service, and to celebrate the engagement of students across the region. This year's first place winner is a student at Arizona State University, Katie Barr.  Barr’s compelling image “Shaping Minds, Shaping Hearts” drew immense support and enthusiasm, winning first place with 1,000 votes.  Barr describes her picture by saying, “Serving with young children provides the opportunity not only to act as their academic teacher, but also as a role model for how to treat others and treat themselves.”

Here at CCMW we are tasked with “leading the evolution of the engaged campus,” but what does that mean? What better way to tell the story of engagement than by looking at an example of an engaged student. We would like to introduce you to Melissa Tilleman, a recent graduate of the University of Wyoming (UW), to help tell the story of how CCMW supports a campus in creating opportunities to produce engaged students.

Behold the power of service.
