Jeremy Goodman

Veteran Leader Corps AmeriCorps Member, Red Rocks Community College

Jeremy was born in California but spent most of his life in Missouri. Directly after high school, Jeremy joined the Army and became a combat medic. Jeremy served in Iraq for fifteen months with 3rd ACR and mostly worked as a team medic for explosive ordinance disposal. Most of Jeremy’s time in time in the army was spent at Fort Hood, Texas and by chance Jeremy landed in Denver, Colorado and plans to stay within the state for life. He currently attends Red Rocks Community College with a degree focus in sociology. Jeremy is now the Veteran Leader Corps Member for RRCC and is committed to helping the attending veterans attain their future education and career goals.


This isn’t a story about war, about the wounds—both visible and invisible—that soldiers are left to carry after war, or the trauma that goes hand in hand with being a soldier.  You won’t find details of battle or unsettling imagery in this tale.  This story is about strength and determination beyond the experience of war; this story embodies the power of self-identity as a veteran.  It’s a story of integrating the person that you once were with the person you are now...
